Changing your name

A few years ago I had a bit of a difficult relationship with a girl. Things were fine at first, but after a while, I discovered a side to her that I didn’t previously know existed. She turned out to be quite violent, and as I am somewhat of an atheist, I never felt like I could fight back. I ended up with some fairly minor injuries, but nonetheless, I felt that I was in a terrible situation.
Naturally I ended up ending the relationship, but the problems didn’t go away here. After we split up, this girl continued to contact me, and was very threatening towards me. I found this very difficult to deal with at the time, but there didn’t seem to be much that I could do to change the situation. I even went to the lengths of contacting the police, but they said that there was nothing I could do, unless I wanted to charge her, which could cost me a lot of money and would take forever.
In the end though, I did find a solution on the internet. It may seem quite a strong approach to take, but I found a website which gave me a load of information about changing my name. I knew that if I did this, she would have no way of contacting me, and I would never have to hear from her again! I told a few friends, and they all thought it was a bit extreme, but it was a simple process, and all it was very straight forward to change my name by deed poll.
In the end I went through with it, and I have to say that it absolutely solved the problem. Now I have a different identity, and I can finally relax!
